**(Note: These are 3 separate class + tournaments with separate prizes and entry fees.)**
Perfect for any of the following:
The adult or youth who has never played chess before but wants to learn.
May have learned a bit of how the pieces move and capture as well as basic rules but need a refresher course.
Have never played in any USCF sanctioned tournament.
Have a USCF membership and rating but with 12 games or less played (meaning your rating is provisional).
Format:
Instructional Class: Class is from 1:30pm-3:30pm each day.
Tournament: Players are placed in 4 player quads. These placements are based on either rating or age, from highest to lowest, whichever is applicable.
It is permissible to skip the instructional class from 1:30pm-3:30pm and participate in the tournament starting at 4pm.
Games are won by either capturing the opponent's king or checkmate.
"Touch Move, Touch Capture" rules will be followed.
Players play 2 games against each opponent (1 white & 1 black) for total of 6 games.
No elimination. Prizes are based on total number of wins out of the 6 games for each player.
Time control: G/20 for each player per game. Chess notation is not required.
Round Times: 4pm, 6pm, 8pm each day.

Entry Fees: $60 by April 7, $70 from April 8 - June 1, $80 on June 2 or after. 2 Tournaments: $110 by April 7, $129 from April 8 - June 1, $147 on June 2 or after. 3 Tournaments: $158 by April 7, $185 from April 8 - June 1, $212 on June 2 or after.
